With its inviting outdoor seating and a menu brimming with fresh ingredients, Calamari & liquori stands out as a go-to destination for seafood lovers.
As I walked into this cozy establishment, I was immediately struck by the friendly and attentive staff, eager to ensure that every guest feels at home. The atmosphere is bustling yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot for a quick snack or a leisurely meal paired with a refreshing cocktail. The feedback from patrons speaks volumes; one delighted customer, Yanna, raves about the excellent cocktails and the helpfulness of the staff, setting a precedent for what one can expect here.
The star of the show at Calamari & liquori is undeniably the seafood. Mindy, another satisfied guest, praised the mixed fried seafood and highlighted the seasoning that brings out the natural flavors of the ocean. It's worth mentioning that the house wine complements the food beautifully, embodying the local Puglian essence. Though some diners, like Tony Gray, noted the prices might be on the higher side, the quality and experience can justify the expense, especially during the bustling summer season.
Calamari & liquori also caters to those seeking a casual outing, as Johannes Räther discovered during a quick snack stop. He enjoyed the fried squid, a dish that consistently garners applause, and found the drink selection to be equally enticing. It's a testament to the restaurant's ability to deliver taste and satisfaction amid the lively pace of Monopoli life.
If you're after a more relaxed dining experience, take a cue from Gemma B's visit. She enjoyed calamari paired with a spritz—an ideal combination for a warm day spent exploring the town. The welcoming nature of the staff ensures that even if there’s a minor hiccup, like forgetting an order, they are quick to remedy it and keep the vibe positive.
In summary, Calamari & liquori is more than just a fish & chips restaurant; it’s a celebration of the coastal flavors of Puglia, wrapped in a warm Italian welcome. Whether you’re popping in for a quick bite or planning a longer sit-down meal, the delicious offerings combined with diligent, polite service make this eatery a must-visit in Monopoli. Don’t just take my word for it—experience the joy of seafood dining at Calamari & liquori yourself!

Fresh seafood with a good seasoning. I could really just eat here everyday. House wine is also good. Everything was amazing, the only minus point from me is that it's a bit pricey. Mixed fried seafood (medium size) + a glass of wine was 20 euros

Excellent mixed seafood and octopus sandwich. Very good drinks and local wine menu. Nice polite service and prices as expected for Puglia in the season. Thoroughly enjoyable. A second visit in the evening was less enjoyable due to the cursory service from an unfriendly waiter and the Hugo spritz was less than exceptional.

<ö+ TasteMarked Reviews +ø> Fried. Quick bites. Outdoor Seating. We were having difficulty on looking for a place to eat here as we came in on an odd timing. The sweet spot were most of the restaurants closest to for a break before serving dinner. We arrived at Monopoli around 2:50PM, and most of the restaurants we wanted to try were closing at 3pm or 3:30pm. Lucky we stumble upon this restaurant specializes on panini/fried finger food. Their menu is simple, which I like as when there’s too many items on the menu I get confused on what to order. This shop brings you back to basics, just a simple salt and pepper o. your meats, salad dressing is olive oil and vinaigrette. We ordered the ff: 1. Panini - Octopus : this is very basic just octopus cooked in salt and pepper. No dressing/ No veggies inside the panini. It’s a bit too simple but the meat was generous. However it was a bit tough. 2. Panini - Chicken : the chicken was coated in breading. 3. Tuna Salad - The tuna have some fishy smell but the veggies are all so nice. Very fresh.
